Laennec is a pharmaceutical product to exploit the medical use of Human placenta
extract in an injectible form. Laennec consists of number of biological active materials
such as cell growth factors, cytokines, active peptides, amino acids, nucleobases,
carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. With Laennec which is a treatment for impaired
liver function, the hepatocellular growth factor (HGF) that is derived from a human
placenta increases the number of liver cells, which have decreased in number due
to excessive alcohol drinking, liver cirrhosis, hepatitis viral attack, etc. and
recovers the liver function.
In Laennec, a lot of growth factors like HGF, nerve growth factor (NGF) and epidermal
growth factor (EGF) are also included and attention tends to be paid to the effect

It is a prescribed drug, obtained from placenta through hydrolysis by hydrochloric
acid after defatted by acetone, mainly consisting of amino acids such as: Threonine,
Methionine, Leucine (Isoleucine), arginine, Histidine, Lysine, Proline (hydroxyproline),
Cystine, phenylalanine, Tyrosine, Glycine, Alanine, Aspartic acid, Glutamic acid,
and Serine.
It is a “specialized designated drug” obtained a license as an ethical drug from
the former ministry of health & welfare of Japan in 1974, has long demonstrated
significant effects for improvement of liver function and has been safely used without
any major side effects. This drug is manufactured under the supervision of pharmaceutical
affairs law of Japan as per the GMP guidelines. Besides Japan, Laennec is also marketed
