What is Keva Energy Saving Paint?
Keva Energy Saving Paint is a 100% acrylic elastomeric, thermal Insulation, water
proof, energy saving and water based coating. When applied as directed, this product
offers energy savings in both cold and hot climates as well as bridges minor surface
imperfections, protects against driving rain, provides outstanding durability, and
offers long lasting protection. If undisturbed it does not need reapplication for
about ten years.
Keva Energy Saving Paint has special formulation which lowers the VOC (Volatile
Organic Compounds) content that adds to the odor of most paint coatings, as well
as contributes to various forms of air pollution. Once applied it acts as an invisible
radiant heat reflecting barrier that improves comfort, reduces heating and cooling
requirements. Keva Energy Saving Paint reduces the heat loading into a structure
& reduces energy bills by up to 40% and reduces the temperature by up to 10° C in
hot weather.

NASA technology has now been adopted for use in the domestic and industrial environment.
Research and development has led to the production of a light elastomeric liquid
solution, which is not only easy to apply to most structures but also capable of
reducing the solar loading of very large surfaces in extreme sunlight.
Keva Energy Saving Paint is tested in one of the most prominent laboratory in USA
i.e. Geoscience Ltd. for Solar Reflectivity, Infrared Emissivity and Thermal modeling
followed with excellent results. As per testing results Infrared Emissivity was
notified as 0.90 under room temperature (Measurement method: ASTM E-408 C-1371)
and Solar Reflectivity was notified as 0.853 (Avg. 0.87, 0.84 & 0.85) (Measurement
method: ASTM E-1918)

The diagram above shows the difference that Keva Energy Saving Paint can make:
|
|
Keva Energy Saving Paint has ceramic micro-spheres which create a thermal barrier.
They refract, reflect and dissipate heat.
Keva Energy Saving Paint contains tiny ceramic micro-spheres of 30-100 microns in
diameter. The tiny microspheres act as highly efficient thermal barriers, so that
when the coating dries, they form a barrier against heat transfer.
The layer is created by the microspheres coming closer together as the coating dries,
until they eventually touch each other forming a single, very thin, thermal barrier.
This barrier reflects, refracts and dissipates heat, thereby keeping heat in a structure
during the cold months and out of the structure during the hot months.
As they are true microspheres, the ceramic particles do not add weight but increase
the strength of the coating. This helps to keep down the weight loading on the structure
being coated.

Simply stir the paint in paste form. Take out the required quantity and add water
to thin it down to the application viscosity. Apply in normal manner. It has mild
texture which helps to cover wall surfaces imperfections.
It may be easily applied with a quality brush, roller, or airless spray equipment.
For best results, it is recommended to apply with a brush and/or roller, to effectively
work clean the surface well. If applying with a brush, apply a smooth and generous
coat application on smaller surface areas, such as trim or cutting-in larger surface
areas. If applying with a roller cover, apply an even and generous coat application
in a "M" or crisscross motion, avoiding any excessive re-spreading or reworking.
Always maintain a proper wet edge by brushing/rolling into previously applied coating
area.

Keva Energy Saving Paint is ideal for areas that will be subjected to moisture as
it is a waterproof coating and will not only insulate, but also protect against
moisture ingress. The elastomeric coating is ideally suited for areas that will
flex, such as steel sided buildings or steel roofs, boat hulls. It can be used to
quickly and easily insulate buildings and structures that would otherwise be very
difficult or impossible to insulate with more traditional methods.
Environment friendly: It is water based product hence it is very much environment
friendly and does not emit any solvent gasses during its curing or storage. Hence
does not add to growing pollution.
Energy Savings: Keva Energy Saving Paint can reduce electricity bills up
to 40% & hence save energy.
Labour Savings: Keva Energy Saving Paint is applied by paint brush, roller
and spray gun and does not require any specialist equipment. The time needed to
coat the structure is also reduced, as a single coat dries in 3-4 hours for recoating.
Lightweight:Keva Energy Saving Paint provides the thermal properties required
but has a low mass. Being much lighter than traditional insulation boards, it is
ideally suited to areas that would not be able to withstand any large weight loading,
such as lightweight roofs or thin sheet panels.
Superior Flexibility: Keva Energy Saving Paint can flex over a wide temperature.
Its durability and flexibility makes it ideal for surfaces that will bend or move
through flexing or expansion and contraction due to heating and cooling. It will
elongate, bend and recover with the surface without cracking or flaking, thus ensuring
that the surface will remain coated and protected at all times.
Ultraviolet Blocker: Keva Energy Saving Paint blocks solar ultraviolet radiation
allowing less harmful UV rays to reach the living and working areas of a building

- Clean surface:
- Surface must be clean and free of dirt, mildew, fungus, grease, excess chalk, loose
or scaling.
- Glossy surface should be dulled. If mildew or fungus is evident, it must be removed
by washing with soap water & scrubbing.
- In case of newly constructed surface, washing is required to remove loose particles
and excess alkaline content over surface.
- Un-weathered areas such as eaves,
ceiling and overhangs should be washed with a detergent solution and/or rinsed with
a strong stream of water from a garden hose to remove surface salts that can interfere
with proper adhesion.
- For metal surfaces, remove rust. Wipe with paint thinner to remove surface oils.
Loose, sandy masonry and stucco masonry and stucco should be dry brushed down to
a firm surface.
- Apply Base Coat (basic primer) to entire surface
- After overnight curing apply Keva Energy Saving Paint first coat by adding water
at the ratio of 200 ml water to per litre of Keva Energy Saving Paint
- After minimum four hours, apply second coat similarly with same dilution.
- The surface will be ready to use after 24 hours.
Note: Coverage of the paint is upto 40sq. ft per litre & thickness
required is 200-250microns in 2 coatings.

Mr. Karan Goel, CEO-Keva Industries, wanted assistance developing coatings and paints
that create a useful thermal reflectance. After reading an article in the local
paper advertising NASA technical assistance available to small business, he started
working on the development of a thermal insulation coating based on NASA technology
which can be available to the masses.
He learned that the coating on the tile as used by NASA does 98 percent of the work.
It appeared that if he was able to incorporate this composition into the paint,
then he had a solution that would be safe, economical, and effective
Mr. Goel felt that he had a product but still he commenced with an additional testing
for Solar Reflectivity, Infrared Emissivity & Thermal Modeling Calculations with
Dr. Heinz Poppendiek of the San Diego-based Geoscience Ltd. (USA), a research and
development firm specializing in heat transfer, fluid flow, mass transfer, micro
meteorology, biophysics, engineering design, system fabrication, product evaluation,
and the measurement of thermal, mechanical, and fluid properties. Thereafter Mr.
Goel was convinced that he had the product ready for market which he named Keva
Energy Saving Solution.
About Keva Energy Saving Paint
Keva Energy Saving Paint is an elastomeric, thermal Insulation, water proof, energy
saving and water based acrylic coating. Keva Industries recommends two coats for
optimal protection.
When the paint dries, these form the radiant heat barrier, turning the ordinary
house paint into heat-reflecting thermal paint. The insulating materials reduce
heat transfer by reflecting heat away from the painted surface by forming a heat-blocking
radiant barrier on the surface that is painted.
According to Keva Industries, the product can be used on walls, roofs, ceilings,
metal buildings, cold storage facilities.
According to Keva Industries, Keva Energy Saving Paint can make homes, businesses,
warehouses, ships, and other structures more energy efficient.
